Tracy's Hooptastic

Posted by on in News

This year a member of our Accounts team Tracy Williams will be completing a 5k hula hooping marathon in July for Cancer Research. This will be taking place in Reading and will be a hula hooping walking marathon through Reading with a team of "Hooplarious Hoopers".

Tracy has really focused on her training for the hooping marathon as she attends hula hooping classes with Andie Painter the founder of "Hooplarious" twice a week after work and spends some evenings and weekends when she's not at her hooping classes practicing fancy tricks at home in the garden.

Also, as of this week Tracy will start the difficult task of hula hooping whilst walking something I'm sure we'll hear some funny stories about. Although, Tracy's hooping has definitely inspired her daughters, as the eldest recently won a talent competition for being the best hooper.

James' Triathlon Progress

Posted by on in News

Our Construction Director James Winsor is planning on completing the Virgin Active London Triathlon Mens Olympic category this July. He's definitely been spurred on by the fact that he will be competing against University friend and company competitor Adam Strudwick from HLW Architects. Although, it's not all about competition all money raised from his training shall go to the Nehemiah Project charity.

As you can imagine since he told Quest colleagues last year about his triathlon plans it's been endless weeks of mockery until he began training properly in February. Although, within his first week of training he lost 10 kilograms!

Since starting his training we have heard hilarious stories about his struggles with wet suit fittings, special running shoe fittings and his new impressive Olympic sports equipment. One being his first Olympic Triathlon bike ride around deepest darkest East London; getting a puncture, not having any kit with him in case of such an event and having to flag down help from the occasional passer-by dressed in full triathlon paraphernalia. As you can tell since James started training seriously every Monday morning has been an amusing update about James' progress.

However, it hasn't been all bad just this weekend James completed his first 1500km lycra swim in the open water followed by 40km bike ride, and has spent most evenings after work jogging around nearby parks in East London and pushing himself to the limit on the treadmill and bikes in his local gym. We're all sure that if James keeps up the current pace and the support he's getting from his colleagues and friends he will have a great performance in the real race.

New Quantity Surveyor - Michael Williams

Posted by on in News

Towards the end of April, Quest Interiors was joined by new Quantity Surveyor Michael Williams.

Since Michael has joined the Quest team he has been a great addition to the company and as he is 6ft 4, a very large one at that. Not only is he skilled in Quantity Surveying he also specialises in health and fitness as a previous gym manager and maintains a healthy lifestyle of exercising every night after work and a diet of fruit and veg and mostly lots and lots of meat; definitely an inspiration for future triathlete James Winsor to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
