Spire Southampton

Project Challenges:

Works began on site in January 2016 for first phase of the project, this involved converting an existing staff room into a new theatre suitable for the Robot. This included a new concrete slab, structural alterations and working right next door to the Hospitals Main Theatre.

This required strong communication between Quest and the neighbouring theatre staff and
patients, which was reviewed daily at the forecast meetings, and with a best possible approach being communicated.

Quest Completed Phase 1 on time with the Theatre open and taking bookings the next day. Quest are now focussing on Phase 2 of the project, where the work is being carried out directly below the theatres. A vital part of Phase 2 is to ensure that the hand over is time, in order to provide the Hospital theatre staff with suitable welfare and additional storage facilities.
